Eastwood July 4th Parade & Picnic
THURSDAY AT 9 AM
VOLUNTEERS GATHER AT 8 AM (WE NEED MORE!)
Put on your most patriotic clothes. Decorate your bicycles, carts, scooters, and other vehicles. Gather at the Dixon Branch Greenbelt Park on Lippitt no later than 9 am. And let’s show some neighborhood pride!
We invite you to join us from your front yard to cheer us on! Due to the heat, the parade will follow a shorter route: from the park down Sylvania, right on Vinemont, right on Overglen, right on Creekmere, and back to the park.
Chill out afterward at the Eastwood picnic! In addition to freshly grilled hot dogs and tofu pups, enjoy an array of COLD treats:
- Iced coffee, tea, lemonade, and water
- Sliced watermelon
- Fruit and cookies
- Snowcones
And a water-slide bounce house for kids!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
We are still seeking a social chair, after the great Lauren moved away, so we’re scrambling a bit to make this happen. We especially need folks to help keep kids entertained:
- Wrangling the giant bubble-making kit.
- Assisting kids with temporary tattoos.
- Riding herd on the bounce house.
- Operating the snow cone maker.
- Being the water balloon czar.
