Branch Out Dallas has begun. The program gives out free 5ish-gallon trees to residents. If your yard is all mature trees, then you need some young ones beneath the boughs to be ready for when the mature ones age out. But even if you have a good age spread of trees in your yard, please order one for the Greenbelt. We could especially use box elders, common persimmons, and roughleaf dogwoods, which are great wildlife trees. Branch Out always runs out of the popular trees like oaks and cedar elms, so there’s a better chance of availability.
