Entry Garden: Monthly Garden Days Begin on 4th Sats
The Eastwood entry garden is looking great! Red blossoms are bursting on the Turk’s caps and hummingbirds have already found them. The lantana is wild with yellow flowers and butterflies. The other wildflowers are looking fine as well.
Let’s keep it that way! Monthly garden days begin on 4th Saturdays of the month. In summer starting at 8 am, in cold weather starting later. Please mark your iCal or other system.
- June 28 Saturday — 8 to 10 am
- entry garden at Creekmere and Peavy
This is an easy-peasy way to help the entry garden. Mostly pulling up unwanted plants. Weeding is cathartic for frustration — better than therapy!
A native morning glory is lovely, but it’s threatening to strangle our showy plants. The rosinwood we evicted is making a resurgence. And a bunch of other unwanted plants, including invasive hedge parsley (maker of awful burs).
Wear closed-toe shoes (occasionally we stir up ants). Bring work gloves, a hand spade, and plenty of water.
