Independence Day Parade Was So Much Fun!

Independence Day Parade Was So Much Fun!

July 4, 2025 Amy Martin

A wonderful look back at the Eastwood parade and picnic on July 4th. We had a record crowd of around 100 people and lots of dogs. A police car, firetruck, and a tractor, plus bikes, kids’ cars, an adult trike, and even a rolling toy lawnmower bubbleblower. Our neighborhood is so creative!

Great thanks to our ENA Independence Day event crew: Catherine Depew — event coordinator and bounce house wrangler; David Cunningham and Greg Jacobs — grill team; David and Ann Cossum, Amy Martin, Lisa Monroe, and Katherine Trotter — food crew; Amy Martin and Scooter Smith — ENA table, fliers, and website; Brian Cade — sound system; Karen Cott — prize wrangler; Rita Williams — prize judge.

Keeping the streets safe for the parade was our VIP team: Darrell Wood, leader, with Francis Shaner, Rita Williams, MORE… Street curb-flag crew: Catherine and Jimmy Depew, Hala Hluchoweckyj, Amy Martin, Erik Rameriz, Scooter Smith, Katherine Trotter, and Darrell Wood.

If it Rolls, it Strolls in the Parade

We are grateful to the Dallas Police Department for bringing their firetruck to the parade.

Perfectly decorated!
A bubble-blowing lawnmower!
I bet no other Dallas parade has a tractor in it.

And Away We Go!

We decided to shorten the parade route, partly due to heat but also to make it easier on the littles.
