State of the Neighborhood Meeting

State of the Neighborhood Meeting

November 13, 2019 ENA

November 21, Thursday

7 to 8:30 pm

Central Lutheran Church

1000 Easton Rd. between Lake Gardens and Vinemont

Featured topic: Addressing Neighborhood Flooding

  • Gather, network, and hear the inside scoops on neighborhood news. Hear a report from our community engagement police officer and our local code officer.
  • Elect officers and assign committee leaders for 2020.

Vinemont Channel

Eastwood Neighborhood Association has learned that the City of Dallas is moving forward with an engineering project called Vinemont Channel Diversion to help alleviate some localized flooding in Eastwood. Join us to hear a presentation from a city engineer and a project consultant. We’ll all learn about it together! The project will still be in early stages at that time, so don’t expect any final plan.

Board of Directors

The current Eastwood Board of Directors has nominated the following slate of officers for election at the State of the Neighborhood Meeting:

  • President – John Walls
  • Vice President – Scooter Smith
  • Treasurer – Karen Babb
  • Secretary – Anne O’Kelly

Other non-officer committee positions include Communications (Amy Martin & Scooter Smith), Riparian (Michael Parkey), Social (Sarah Hamilton), Streets & Creeks (Joe Picolla), and Welcoming (Karen Cott).

Are you passionate about improving Playground Park? Or working with your neighbors in crime prevention education? Or creating a book on Eastwood’s history? Or developing more children’s activities for the neighborhood? Create your own committee!

To step up and give to this great neighborhood, contact the current president through the ENA board webpage.
